Adoption and Scaling Out are major components of both IndoBeef projects, aiming to increase the uptake of proven technologies by smallholder farmers (adoption) and to enable the broader use of technologies by a far wider group of smallholder farmers (scaling out).
Achieving effective adoption and scaling out has been a major challenge for agricultural industries around the world, with relatively few successful examples. This is particularly true for most of the complex, knowledge-based systems and processes that underpin agricultural industries in both developed and developing countries.
Given this, IndoBeef also has a major focus on undertaking cutting-edge adoption and scaling out research. The aim is to develop the new knowledge, practices and processes to maximise adoption and scaling out of proven technologies, so that the more effective methods can be applied to wider areas of Indonesia, and ideally to other agricultural industries across the globe.
